Vision or Strategy – Which is Better?

Steve Case

Steve Case, co-founder of AOL (American OnLine) said, “In the end, a vision without the ability to execute it is probably a hallucination.”

What do you call someone who sees things that aren’t there?  Well, until they prove what they see is real they are called, DELUSIONAL.  Once their vision becomes real they are called, VISIONARY.

It’s very simple.  If you have a clear vision of what you want, and yet you aren’t doing anything to make it happen OR make it happen in the time frame you want, there is a good chance you are just delusional.  I’d rather have the ability to execute a small vision than the inability to execute a big vision.  There are way too many people with big vision and no ability to execute; the world doesn’t need another.

How do you move from the delusional to the visionary?  Well, if your standard in life is that you never seem to make real the things you envision, try envisioning something just a bit smaller so you can get the win.  Once you have enough little wins you’ll be able to have bigger vision AND the ability to execute it into reality.
